Court Accepting Online Attorney Admission Petitions Effective July 2, 2012
Effective July 2, 2012, the Northern District of California will begin accepting attorney admission petitions, and payment of the associated fees, online via CM/ECF. The Pay.gov payment module allows registered CM/ECF users to pay admission fees by credit card while electronically filing their admission paperwork. In addition to streamlining the submission and processing of attorney admission petitions, this new online process will result in an email notification being sent to the applicant once s/he has been admitted to the bar of the Northern District of California, thereby obviating the need for an applicant to check the Court's website for the status of his/her admission petition.
Additionally, effective October 1, 2012 all attorney admission petitions must be submitted electronically. Until that time, we will accept attorney admission petitions electronically, by mail or in person. Further information about online attorney admission petitions will be posted to this website in the near future.
