Stipulated Protective Orders
The protective orders on this page are court-approved model forms to which counsel may stipulate in a particular case. For patent cases, Patent Local Rule 2-2 provides that the "Protective Order authorized by the Northern District of California shall govern discovery unless the Court enters a different protective order." With the exception of Patent Local Rule 2-2, the Local Rules do not require the parties to use any of the model protective orders and counsel may stipulate to or move for another form of protective order.
