Court Reporter Supervisor (.pdf, 128 KB)

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California is seeking a Court Reporter Supervisor in San Francisco, California. The Clerk’s Office provides qualified court reporters for all judges and the court reporter supervisors maintain a master court reporter calendar designed to assure the presence of a court reporter whenever needed, despite frequent unforeseeable changes in judges’ calendars. We are seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented professional to lead our Court Reporter Unit.
This role oversees the daily operations of staff reporters across two courthouses and ensures the timely, accurate production of the official court record in a highly regulated environment. Apply by May 31, 2025, for priority consideration. Position open until filled.

Courtroom Deputy Clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Virginia DeMarchi (.pdf, 134 KB)

The Courtroom Deputy Clerk provides administrative support to U.S. Magistrate Judge Virginia DeMarchi in and out of the courtroom. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to communicate effectively with judges, attorneys, chambers staff, and the public. It's a great fit for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment.
Courtroom Deputy Clerks (CRDs) are part of the Clerk's Office and support the work of the court by managing courtroom proceedings and maintaining the judge's calendar. They administer oaths, maintain custody of exhibits, coordinate with jurors, and file orders and notices into cases. CRDs also serve as a key point of contact for attorneys and parties with questions about scheduling and procedures. The role includes additional duties such as handling referrals, petty offense matters, and providing coverage for other CRD's. Open Until Filled
